Anne-Lucia gives us an insight into her application process and how she realized that BOC Group was the right place for her.
How did you find out about the BOC Group?
I was looking for a job that offers diverse and dynamic tasks. I found out about the BOC Group through a job advertising site. The job description appealed to me, and I wanted to try something new.
What appealed to you most about the job advertisement?
The job description fits perfectly into my portfolio, especially the IT affinity, and skills I should bring along as a consultant. I would like to emphasize in a particularly positive way that there was a quick response, and the waiting was quite short, which brings a sense of appreciation to me. First, I was invited to a telephonic interview, where I was able to elaborate my professional experiences in a detailed manner that makes me a proper fit for the job.
How did you perceive your application process with us?
I was very excited when I had my first interview with the HR manager. It was a nice, relaxed conversation. She took time for me, explained the company culture, and went into detail about my upcoming tasks in consulting. After my first positive interaction, another interview with the consulting team leader followed shortly afterward.
The interview with the team leader Matthias was both interesting and informative. I was able to ask a lot of questions about my future tasks and projects, and Matthias took a lot of time and created a relaxed atmosphere that was more like getting to know each other than a job interview. After the pleasant impressions during the application phase, I knew that I would become a process management consultant at BOC Germany.
What qualities do you find important in consulting?
You should not be afraid to speak in front of people, be curious and have a good grasp of things. Good people skills are also important so that you can interact with different groups.
Is there anything else you would like to give to applicants?
I can say that I have found the BOC Group to be a very good employer. The BOC Group is very flexible and responds to the individual needs of its employees. By this, I mean the setting of priorities: from which program I would like to take part in which direction I would like to develop. In the beginning, I was given the opportunity for further training, which is not a matter of course. That was the point where it was once again confirmed for me: “YES, I am with the right employer”.
