The ADONIS modelling method supports the derivation of IT processes from business processes for IT blueprint specification and ultimately for execution in a runtime environment. By aligning IT with business needs, IT processes and resources will be optimised for the support of business processes. Within ADONIS, process information related to the necessary IT support is extended and graphically visualised. Thus the necessary systems and technologies required are documented and validated for execution. As a result, a model representation of the ‘to-be’ system is generated, which is used as a design model for the IT application to be developed and can be exported through interfaces using standards such as BPEL, XPDL or XMI.
