White paper: Applying MDA concepts for Business Process Management

Business Process Management enables companies to gain from efficiency enhancements and to quickly and flexibly adopt for a changing world. Workflow technology can definitely help to put business process management into action. But how do you facilitate companies for sustainable Business Process Management?
This paper first introduces the Process Management Life Cycle and its steps from process strategy, documentation, optimization and implementation to daily business process execution and process controlling. For implementation aspects, the paper emphasizes on the duality of business-focused and IT-focused process views which is a basic concept for applying MDA® approaches with respect for business needs and requirements. Then, practicable concepts for model-driven implementation of workflow applications and model-driven business monitoring are introduced.
